The Henry Dunn Story

Henry E. Dunn founded Dunn Insurance Agency in 1933 with the acquisition of the Pratt Agency, located at 317 Main Street, Towanda, PA. Henry E. Dunn successfully grew the company into a respectable, trustworthy agency celebrating their 25th Anniversary in 1958.

After over 30 years of successful service, the Dunn Insurance Agency became incorporated in 1964. Unexpectedly, Henry E. Dunn passed away in 1969 leaving behind a respectable social, economic and business legacy. In 1970, Gerald Corbett was elected President. Two years later, Henry C. Dunn joined the agency as Vice President and Treasurer to continue the legacy.

Throughout the 1970s, Henry Dunn, Inc. saw substantial growth with the attainment of the Rockwell Agency (1973) and the Ralph Park Agency (1974) facilitating the opening of a real estate division (1976).

The 1980s brought more expansion and celebration when the agency obtained the Howard Kerr Agency (1982) and the Geraldine Montgomery Agency (1985) leading way to the opening of the Sayre Branch. The agency’s 50th Anniversary was celebrated in 1983. After Gerald Corbett’s retirement in 1989, Henry C. Dunn assumed the position of President. This same year the Sholley Agency was acquired and the Canton Branch was opened.

Three more mergers occurred in the 1990s: Ransoms Insurance (1991), ERA Action Realty in Muncy, PA (1991) and Ransom Agency in Waverly, NY (1998). In 1993, Henry E. Dunn II joined the Agency.

Recently, Henry Dunn, Inc. had acquired Mallalieu-Golder (2002) and opened branch offices in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Williamsport.


In 2007, Bryant Dunn joined the agency. Most recently, the agency opened another branch office in Uniontown, Pa. This branch will serve as their strategic western Pennsylvania operation in hopes to expand Henry Dunn, Inc. throughout the western part of the state.

2008 marked the 75th Anniversary of Henry Dunn, Inc.


Today, Henry Dunn, Inc. is a 3rd generation firm, celebrating its 75th anniversary as one of Pennsylvania’s largest insurance agencies with six office locations throughout Pennsylvania. The agency has access to all lines of insurance through hundreds of companies with preferred status and has multi-faceted market segmented experts throughout the Agency. The company’s main objectives are to be honest and fair in all their dealings, to be interested in people and their problems and to treat the client’s needs as though they were their own.
